The Daytona traces to 1963, when Rolex conceived it as a professional racing chronograph named for the Florida circuit synonymous with high-speed endurance competition. Reference 116576TBR represents the diamond-set escalation of the first-ever platinum Daytona — introduced in 2013 to mark the model's 50th anniversary — and occupies rarefied territory as one of the maison's most prestigious modern productions. The ice blue dial itself remains reserved exclusively for platinum Rolex watches, functioning as an instantly recognizable identifier of the material from across a room. Executed here with a clean ice blue sunburst dial punctuated by factory baguette-cut diamond hour markers rather than full pavé treatment, this configuration achieves a more restrained yet still magnificent expression of the reference. The 40mm case in 950 platinum features a bezel factory-set with thirty-six diamonds and Triplock screw-down crown with matching chronograph pushers. The ice blue sunburst dial carries baguette-cut diamond hour markers, three tonal ice blue subdials — small seconds at six, thirty-minute counter at three, twelve-hour counter at nine — the signature red "Daytona" text above six, and blued white gold hands. The in-house automatic Caliber 4130 — a self-winding chronograph with column wheel and vertical clutch — delivers a 72-hour power reserve and Superlative Chronometer certification, completed by a 950 platinum Oyster bracelet with Oysterlock folding safety clasp.
